Information about the Manifest System
Effective January 1, 2009 the A2 Chelsea Express uses a manifest to track fare payment.

What is a manifest?
The manifest is a list of customers who have purchased a monthly or half-monthly pass.  The manifest replaces the printed cards which acted as passes in the past.  If you’ve submitted a payment on-time, your name appears on the manifest

How does it work?
The manifest will be updated twice a month:

  • The 1st of every month, an updated manifest will include customers who have purchased a full monthly pass or a half-monthly pass for the first half of the month.
  • The 15th of every month, an updated manifest will include customers who have purchased a full monthly pass or a half-monthly pass for the second half of the month.

To ensure that you’re on the manifest for the riding period of your choice, please submit payment by the dates shown:

Riding Period Manifest Effective Date Payment Due at AATA
All of May or First Half of May May 1 April 27
Second Half of May May 15 May 11
All of June or First Half of June June 1 May 26

All of July or First Half of July July 1 June 25

Please include a completed order form with each payment.  Click here for an order form.

Be sure to allow enough time for the post office to deliver.  If you’re paying by credit card, you can also fax your form to AATA at 734.973.6338.

University of Michigan Inaugurates A2 Chelsea Express Employer Partnership Program

The University of Michigan strongly supports efforts by those who are making strides to reduce vehicular traffic on campus and to reduce the need for campus parking. In this case, that support takes the form of the University funding 50% of the monthly (or half-monthly) fares for the A2 Chelsea Express. Once UM employees are registered with the program, they will only have to pay half the fare. UM will then pay AATA directly for the remainder.*

In order to register, please contact AATA at express.bus@theride.org. AATA will forward employees' names and uniqnames to the University of Michigan Parking and Transportation Services, who will make the final determination on eligibility. Further details about eligibility are available from the University of Michigan Parking and Transportation Services by calling (734) 764-8291. Please allow at least two weeks for eligibility confirmation.

*For those faculty & staff who are eligible for a parking permit. Effective Jan. 1, 2009, UM temporary staff will also be eligible. Future subsidy levels are subject to change.

AATA welcomes the participation of other area employers. For further information please contact AATA at express.bus@theride.org.
