Improvements at the YTC!
The Ypsilanti Transit Center (YTC) was originally constructed in 1993. Since that time, TheRide has worked with local leaders to expand services in the Ypsilanti area. Both the age of the YTC and the increase in service has created a need to update the Ypsilanti Transit Center.
TheRide is currently evaluating the best way to accommodate riders and operational needs in Ypsilanti now and in the future. TheRide has made improvements to the current building to ensure customer needs are met until a plan to update the YTC can be developed. Improvements include:
- Remodeled public restrooms (new tile, new fixtures, new hand dryers, fresh paint)
- A new heating and cooling system
- Fresh paint in the lobby
- Repaired counter top
- Fixed neon sign
- Fixed brickwork on the greenway wall and replaced top layer of brick with a limestone cap
- Sidewalk improvements.
As the next phase of this project develops, we will be looking for public input from you. Keep visiting this page for updated information or sign up for TheRide's newsletter by clicking here and scroll to "Subscribe to our newsletter."
