Information Guides

A new Information Guide for TheRide is being released in place of the Spanish Ride Guide starting in January, 2016. It will include the same contents as the original Ride Guide, separate from our schedule pages.

In an effort to reach more of our riders in the area, TheRide will also be publishing the Info Guide in Mandarin and Korean. We hope you will find this new format useful, as you enjoy the improved transportation services in the greater Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti areas.

Fiscal Year 2016 Program of Projects




Notice is hereby given of the intent of the Ann Arbor Area Transportation Authority (AAATA) to apply for Federal assistance from the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) under the Urbanized Area Formula program (Section 5307), Bus and Bus Facilities program (Section 5339), Surface Transportation Program (STP), Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality program (CMAQ), and Enhanced Mobility for Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities Formula program (Section 5310), to support the Program of Projects detailed below.

  • Program of Projects - The applicant is the Ann Arbor Area Transportation Authority.  The project period is the year beginning October 1, 2015, and ending September 30, 2016.  The projects in this fiscal year will be carried out over the next three years.  The service area of the project is Washtenaw County, Michigan.  The non-Federal share of the funds for capital projects will come from the State of Michigan, AAATA, and private non-profits receiving 5310 funding in the Ann Arbor urbanized area


  • Relocation - No person, family, or business will be displaced by these projects.


  • Environment - The proposed projects will not have a significant environmental impact upon the urban area.


  • Comprehensive Planning - The projects are in conformance with comprehensive land use and transportation planning in the area and are consistent with the adopted programming of the projects in the Transportation Improvement Program.


  • Elderly and Persons with Disabilities - The projects take into account the special needs of elderly persons and persons with disabilities.


  • Charter Bus Operations - Pursuant to current Federal regulations, the Ann Arbor Area Transportation Authority does not currently operate for-hire charter bus service.

Persons or organizations may comment in writing on or before July 16, 2016  to the AAATA at 2700 S. Industrial Hwy., Ann Arbor, Michigan 48104, or via email to grants@theride.org and use “Program of Projects” for the subject. A copy of each of the applications is available upon request via mail or email to the address above. The applications will be made available in alternative formats if requested for review by persons unable to review a printed copy. If the program of projects is revised, a final program of projects will be published following the public comment period.


If requested, a public hearing will be scheduled, and advanced notice will be provided online at TheRide.org/ContactUs and to anyone who requests to be notified and/or provides comments on AAATA’s FY 2016 Program of Projects. At that time, persons or organizations wishing to comment on the application may do so. A copy of written comments, and any comments received at a public hearing, if held, will be submitted to the Federal Transit Administration as part of the application.
