Route 3 to Detour Around Geddes Rd Roundabout Construction

The Michigan Dept of Transportation has begun work on the construction of three roundabouts at the intersections of Geddes Rd/US-23 and Geddes Rd/Earhart Rd. During the first phase of construction (scheduled to begin on April 5th), westbound Geddes Rd will be closed to traffic.

During this construction phase, route 3 buses headed to Ann Arbor will be detoured as follows: Beginning at WCC – north on Huron River Dr – west on Huron River Dr – north on Huron Pkwy – resume regular route at Huron Pkwy/Geddes.

The detour is scheduled to begin on April 5th and will last until further notice. Four bus stops will not be served during the detour:

  • Dixboro Rd south of Geddes Rd (near the bridge over the Huron River)
  • Geddes Rd west of Dixboro Rd
  • Geddes Rd west of Earhart Rd
  • Geddes Rd at Sumac Ln

During the detour passengers may board buses at:

  • Temporary bus stop on Huron River Dr at Dixboro Rd
  • Huron Pkwy north of Geddes Rd
  • Passengers may also cross the street to take route 3 buses toward Ypsilanti to reach bus stops that are still in service

Notices have been posted at the affected stops. Please watch the AATA website for updated information on this project and other detours.

Project information can be found at the City of Ann Arbor’s website project page. Route schedules, maps and information on other detours can be found on the AATA Routes and Schedule page.
