MyRide is a Mobility Management service that provides transit coordination to transit-dependent individuals. Transit coordination is based on the individual's trip needs in Washtenaw County and select areas in Jackson, Lenawee, Livingston, Monroe, Oakland, and Wayne Counties.
How MyRide Works
MyRide does not provide direct transit services. Transit trips are coordinated through a network of public, private, and non-profit providers.
What MyRide Provides
Information & Referrals
MyRide makes referrals to help decide which transit services will best meet the travel needs of the individual. Information and referrals are also provided on available transportation options within Washtenaw and surrounding counties.
MyRide matches individuals to the most appropriate service. They assess the individual's ability to pay fares and/or schedules trips with transportation providers from within the network.
Trip Fare Assistance
MyRide temporarily pays a portion of fares for specific types of trips taken by individuals who are not able to use public transit services for a variety of reasons:
- Individual doesn’t have a car
- Individual origination and/or destination is not on a public transportation bus line
- Individual travel time is not within the local public transportation hours of operation
The amount of assistance provided is based on passenger income and the length of time service is needed.
MyRide trips can be scheduled Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Call toll-free at 866-977-9423.
We encourage individuals to schedule trips 24 hours in advance to ensure a ride and avoid an increased fare. Same day trips can be scheduled for a slightly higher fare. Rides are based on provider space and availability.
Funding for Trip Fare Assistance
Job Access and Reverse Commute (JARC, Section 5316) provides funding to support MyRide trip fare assistance.
JARC funding assists low income customers with transportation to work and other work-related services or activities.
Work related activities are defined as trips in Washtenaw County:
- To and from work (including taking dependents to daycare)
- To interviews, orientations, and job training
- To job search at designated locations
