TheRide Announces Service Adjustments - Starting January 22

Bus driving on Michigan Ave in Ypsilanti

ANN ARBOR, MI – The Ann Arbor Area Transportation Authority (TheRide) is making service adjustments beginning Sunday, January 22, 2023. These service adjustments are to improve on-time performance and service reliability of its routes.

“As more people continue to return to riding public transit, we are pleased to be making these updates to improve the rider experience,” Ken Anderson, Acting Deputy CEO of Planning and Innovation at TheRide said. “In addition to these updates, our rider tools like our Text My Bus feature, make it even easier for our riders to plan their trip and track their bus.”

The service updates that begin Sunday, January 22, include minor adjustments to many routes. Many of the adjustments will alter the route’s timepoints, which are certain bus stops along a route where the bus has a specific scheduled time for the bus to leave the stop. These timepoint adjustments mean that the times that the bus serves bus stops in between timepoints will be adjusted accordingly. TheRide’s Rider Tools allow customers to stay up to date on estimated arrival times, detours and other service-related alerts along a route or at a specific bus stop.
