ReImagine Washtenaw is an ongoing initiative to create a new corridor along Washtenaw Avenue. This corridor will support a high quality of life with walkable shopping options, housing choices, efficient transit service, great public spaces, bike paths, and access to educational, cultural, and employment centers.
Public Transit Improvements
TheRide is collaborating with the Regional Transit Authority of Southeast Michigan (RTA), ReImagine Washtenaw, and community stakeholders to improve transit and passenger amenities along the Washtenaw Avenue Corridor. We are working together toward future investments like:
- Enhancing corridor stations
- Integrating "express" limited stop service
- Introducing traffic signal technology
This study corridor follows Washtenaw Avenue (M-17) and the Route 4 alignment, passing through many areas within Washtenaw County, including the City of Ann Arbor, Pittsfield Township, Ypsilanti Township, and the City of Ypsilanti.
