ANN ARBOR, MI -- The Ann Arbor Area Transportation Authority (TheRide) will not operate fixed-route bus service, FlexRide, or A-Ride services on Thursday, December 25, 2025 or Thursday, January 1, 2026 in observance of the Christmas and New Year holidays. Service will resume on Friday, December 26, 2025 and Friday, January 2, 2026, with most routes operating on a Saturday schedule, with some exceptions. TheRide's main office, the Blake Transit Center and the Ypsilanti Transit Center will be closed on Thursday, December 25 and Thursday, January 1, but will re-open on Friday, December 26 and Friday, January 2.
On Christmas Eve (Wednesday, December 24) and New Year’s Eve (Wednesday, December 31), fixed-route bus service will end early, with the last trips leaving the Blake Transit Center at 6:45 p.m. and the last bus to depart from the Ypsilanti Transit Center will be at 7:00 p.m. Please note that real-time tools may not reflect the modified end times.
On Friday, December 26, Monday, December 29, Tuesday, December 30 and Wednesday, December 31, TheRide will operate on a Saturday schedule for all routes, with the exception of the following:
- Route 4: Earlier start time schedules
- Route 61: Reduced weekday schedules
- Route 62: Reduced weekday schedules
- Route 65: Reduced weekday schedules
- Route 33: Does not operate on Saturdays
- Route 34: Does not operate on Saturdays
- Route 63: Does not operate on Saturdays
- Route 64: Does not operate on Saturdays
- Route 68: Does not operate on Saturdays
- Route 104: Does not operate on Saturdays
Regular service will operate on Saturday, December 27 and Sunday, December 28, and full service will resume on all routes on Friday, January 2.
Passengers may take advantage of FlexRide Holiday Service, which is a shared-ride service on designated holidays for just $5 per person. Seniors with an AAATA GoldRide card and persons with disabilities with an A-Ride identification card may ride for $2.50. Individuals with a valid go!pass may ride for $3. FlexRide Holiday trips are limited to designated areas within the cities of Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti.
FlexRide Holiday Service hours on Christmas and New Year’s Day:
- 6:00 a.m. – 12:45 a.m. on Thursday, December 25 and Thursday, January 1
FlexRide Late Night Service hours due to the Christmas and New Year holidays are as follows:
- 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 24 and Wednesday, December 31 to 6:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 26 and Thursday, January 2
